At a recent convention we came across the Creep Cat Toy Company — by their own description, “…founded by two independent LGBTQ+ artists with a passion for funky little creatures and a knack for design! We are a pair of artists who work mainly in craft and concept design and are trying our hand at turning our work into something larger.” Which is mainly a collection of interesting plush animal toys, often featuring species you don’t see very often — like hyenas long-legged maned wolves. The collection also includes their line of Pride Gators, designed to showcase the owner’s personality. “With each purchase from Creep Cat you are directly supporting small artists and helping us live out our dream!”.
Plush Toys
Animals to Cuddle
As we’ve noted, if you’re talking about Furry Fandom the word “cute” is never far away. And if you’re talking about cute, plush animals are probably going to come up too. Well at the L.A. Comic Con we came across an artist called Bellzi, who specializes in cute plush animals. In literally dozens of designs in fact. “Anything and Everything Cute” their web site says, and they live up to that ideal!
Clumsy, But Cute
The Awkward Animal web site is home to a series of plush toy animals who are put together… slightly wrong. They tend to suffer for it — in the cutest ways possible. Now in addition to their line of plushies, t-shirts, and other accessories, the Awkward Animal creators have a series of short animated commercials up on their web site to introduce you to these clumsy creatures. Go say hello to the latest, Awkward Fox! He made his premier at this year’s San Diego Comic Con.
